How a young family's struggle to introduce solid foods in a new country led to the creation of the ultimate end-to-end baby nutrition companion.
As new parents living in the United States, far from home and the familiar support of family elders, we found ourselves facing one of parenthood's most daunting milestones: transitioning our baby Noah to solid foods.
Without hands-on support, experienced mentors, or unified guidelines, we were completely overwhelmed. We struggled to find answers to simple questions: What foods are safe? When is the right time? How do we prepare them?
The challenge became especially steep when it came to introducing traditional foods. While standard pediatric apps existed, none addressed cultural staples or Indian foods. We found ourselves constantly searching the internet, worrying about allergen schedules, trying to figure out how to cook a new ingredient safely, and scratching our heads to prepare a new meal every day.
We quickly realized there was a gaping hole. There are tools with recipes and lists, but nothing felt like a true end-to-end companion that could guide parents through daily planning, allergen introductions, science-backed nutritional facts, and debunking old wives' tales.
So, we decided to build it ourselves. We created Tummy Jr. to be the comprehensive safety and planning partner we wished we had. A complete system built specifically for modern, busy parents—especially those living away from home in metro cities with limited local support.
